BE - I too this photo at an outdoor book market in Paris. Through 2020, many have learned about being rather than doing as we've been in and out of quarantine, shutdowns, and lockdowns. Exploring and adventure doesn't always mean traveling somewhere, join me as I blog and explore!
I will be awake at 3:30AM and beginning a journey to Peru. I can’t believe it’s here. The times leading up to this have been completely challenging and enjoyable, and more than anything have stretched me in every aspect possible. I fully expect the same to occur in Peru, if not even more so.
The preparations have been challenging. Learning more photography skills, preparing to teach: histograms, street photography, and macro photography. Bigger than that, preparing to facilitate planned Spiritual discussions, and praying for opportunities for Spirit-led spontaneous discussions.
I have extremely high thoughts of what this journey will be like, and they are mostly fearful of the Inca Trail. However, the more I begin to research it, the more I realize this will not be an impossible journey. You see, the impossible journeys are the ones that we do not believe we can accomplish. They are the jumping off a bridge into water when you are intimidated by heights and have never jumped off a diving board. They are the moments when you are standing on top of a mountain you never thought you would conquer. That’s what I plan for Friday afternoon.
I’ve had this image on my desktop for months now, and I fully expect Dead Woman’s pass to be grueling, but it’s there for a reason and it has been my inspiration for exercise more than anything. The benefits I have reaped from this exercise is really more than the apparent feeling that i will be “prepared” to take this trek… but it’s grown me in many ways, more than expected.
HEY, MAYBE I’LL HAVE THE ENERGY and iPhone battery life TO FIND THE GEOCACHE HIDDEN ON DEAD WOMAN’S PASS! apparently it leads to a place with an AMAZING view…
Sometimes, the things we do can surprise us. Sometimes, I find the easiest thing to do is to simply get caught up in fear and worry and that will paralyze us.
I’m planning to be surprised. What about you?
