When I think about time the past month with dear American friends I realize the power that comes in a heart conversation which awakens your soul to dream.   When I’m in my own world, I find it very easy to forget about the future… Let’s be honest, sometimes all we want to do is live in the past… either to sweetly reminisce or to analyze what could have been done differently for a brighter present.

I believe there is an unexplainable synergy found in listening to the heart of a friend and in return, opening your heart unashamedly.  It is how the soil in our lives is tilled in preparation for growth.  Often, the new perspective, is like a farmer rotating his crops and we are able to bear more diverse [good] fruit in a land we deemed desolate or over grown.  I adore the ways that friends with a different perspective can open my eyes to things that were right before me, and yet I had not considered before.  I am ever grateful for the friends who have helped me see beyond my present corner[s] of the world.

Under the guise of mis-guided “humility” we don’t see the most beautiful things about our own selves.  Admittedly, I think it prideful to admit that I excel at something, or to proclaim that with effort I succeed where others may not be able to.  I continue to discover things that make me come alive, [faith, outdoors, photography, community, wanderlust, ukraine, teenagers, just to name a few]  and I often doubt that I could really “make a living” by bringing these dreams to life.  But I ask, would I be satisfied if I have the knowledge of such a dream but never act out on it?

This song, “Lead us Lord” is slow and old-school, however it is my prayer in this moment.  It is what is happening in my heart as I share and seek wisdom from those that will not let me settle for anything less than big dreams coming to life.

Prepare our hearts to risk again.  And as we trust, taking simple steps of obedience we know that you will lead us Lord.

And isn’t that what dreaming is?  Seeing something that looks like a risk, and daring to say “I can do that” in complete trust. [with some amazing people by your side, who even more than you, believe you can do it].

So, thank you dear friends, for listening and sharing into the depth of my life. It’s my prayer that I am able to be the synergy for others to dream as well.
