Hi everybody, we are here at McDonald’s in Kiev… (We love the free wifi, thanks Dan!) it’s been quite the eventful day. We’ve learned that Melissa is quite clumsy, the coffee she just spilled on herself is the second this trip…after hours of flying, layovers with a small trip into Zurich, and a small delays we have made it to Ukraine! It feels like we never left. Despite it being warmer than before in Kiev, the streets are covered in layers of hard ice which makes walking around a slow process. On Sunday we went to new life church with our dear friends: Oleg, Lena & Lesya. Since we arrived a little late (you should see the amount of icy snow in these roads it’s a hazard to even walkers!) we arrived in the middle of the sermon. What a Powerful sermon was shared. It was about servanthood, humility, and the vitality of being daily renewed. Afterwards we went to lunch, and toured around the city a bit… Fun it was, hillsong we did see (unfortunately, the service was a Christmas play with a $5 charge and no translation was offered.)
Tonight, We look forward to going to the city square, grocery shopping and practicing our drama for our time at the orphanage… Tomorrow we will celebrate the new year and prepare to head to Kharkov on Tuesday.
