Just settling down on the long train ride to Kharkov. Anxious to see the kids, our friends from the church there, and to begin our work and real reason for this trip. I can not complain about our time in Kiev though, most definitely my favorite New Years celebration ever. Starting with a curling competition on an ice rink in the middle of a downtown mall, then we met with a couple of
our friends and translators and went to a new year party at the international Christian association met some cool people from all over, coffee, sandwiches, games, and an ugly sweater contest. Next we headed to freedom square for the most spectacular new year celebration I’ve ever been to with fireworks, concerts , and celebrities. After that we headed back to the the house to feast on Ukraine New Years food prepared by our friends and Kristina’s wonderful grandparents aka “host with most” , and had a great time sitting around the table talking and laughing.
